I started MurderMemes on Instagram in 2018 after a friend shared a horror meme with the hashtag #murdermemes, and to our surprise, no one was using it. So, I took the baton and created the first batch of video memes.
I was inspired to spread my love for horror movies by poking fun at life’s everyday nonsense, from annoying co-workers to weird food cravings, and it quickly became a hit with horror fans and the curious alike. Soon, my silly world I created called The Murderverse went viral, with horror legends like Damien Leone and David Howard Thornton of the Terrifier franchise sharing my work.
As MurderMemes grew its following on Instagram and TikTok, I discovered an incredible community of horror fans who loved talking about their favorite films as much as I did. All that inspiration led me to create Blood & Banter, a conversation card game focused on horror. When I started attending conventions to connect with fans, I found myself diving deeper into creating original artwork from my mash-ups, all while keeping the memes alive on social.
Now, I’m hitting the road, traveling to conventions, selling my art and merchandise, making new friends, hanging out with horror legends, and having a blast sharing everything I create. In my spare time, I’m also a co-host on a podcast called The Howl, where my friend Nick Taylor and I geek out over the latest horror news and movies we’ve seen lately.
So what’s next?
More conventions, more content, and more fun. If you want to catch me and MurderMemes in person, check out my events page—you might just find me lurking at a venue near you.
